CreateLineOfBusiness creates a new line of business for the organization.

Lines of business categorize contacts by product/service interest.

Use Cases​

  • Product lines: "Enterprise Software", "Cloud Services"
  • Service offerings: "Consulting", "Support Plans"
  • Market segments: "B2B", "B2C", "Government"

Parameters​

  • name: Required, unique name within organization (max 100 chars)

Response​

Returns the created line of business with assigned ID.

Errors​

  • INVALID_ARGUMENT: Name is empty or exceeds 100 characters
  • ALREADY_EXISTS: Line of business with same name exists
  • PERMISSION_DENIED: Caller lacks contacts:settings:write permission
